I Love New York

We didn’t catch a play on Broadway

Missed the Statue of Liberty too

We didn’t see no Yankees game

Or shop Madison Avenue

We didn’t take a walk on Wall Street

Or a carriage ride through Central Park

But when I think of that big old city

It puts a smile on my heart

It could’ve been Boston or Atlanta

It could’ve been Vancouver

We never left the hotel room

So it didn’t really matter

Well I fell in love that weekend

Do not disturb on the door

You’re the only thing I remember

Baby, I love New York

You laughed when you opened the curtains

And saw a brick wall in front of you

Me I was staring at your body

Thinking my god what a view

We heard the TV in the next room

The sirens from the street below

But I heard a voice inside me saying

Boy don’t you ever let her go

It could’ve been Boston or Atlanta

It could’ve been Vancouver

We never left the hotel room

So it really didn’t matter

I fell in love that weekend

Do not disturb on the door

You’re the only thing I remember

Baby, I love New York

Well I used wonder as the years went by

If she ever thought about it

And if you were to ask me then

I’d say I doubt it

Last week I got a Times Square postcard

For some reason it came unsigned

She’s the only one in this world

That could’ve written these lines

It could’ve been Boston or Atlanta

It could’ve been Vancouver

We never left the hotel room

So it didn’t really matter

Well I fell in love that weekend

Do not disturb on the door

You’re the only thing I remember

Baby I love New York
